About The Art Base
The Art Base is a private studio for art classes, camps, workshops, and events.
The space was finished in 2024 and has been transformed into a bright and welcoming art studio and play room.
Located in the beautiful Historic Oakwood neighborhood, The Art Base is conveniently walkable to
Person Street establishments and downtown Raleigh.
Book a private event at the studio, or sign up your kids for a Parents Night Out Event, and we will entertain them here while you enjoy some adult time!
We are excited to offer a variety of creative opportunities which will change every month.

About Kristen
Kristen Ciannamea
I am an educator, mother, and artist. It has been a dream to open The Art Base and be able to combine elements from each of those roles while doing what I love.Â
Over the past 13 years I have taught art to thousands of preschool, elementary, and middle school students in Raleigh, Wake Forest, Youngsville, and Henderson, North Carolina.
One of my favorite parts of being an art teacher is helping people remove self doubt and build confidence in their abilities by trying something new.Â
In my free time I am often out and about with my daughter, experimenting with mixed media,
reading, thrifting, walking my dog Luna, and traveling.
I understand the need for having creative outlets available to the community.
It is my hope that The Art Base is a place where people enjoy coming to
create, be inspired, grow their art skills, and just have fun!
